Freestyle Synergy of Film, Music and Movement to Create A Healing Art Experience

Donation Request: $35.00 (to help cover the cost of venue & materials)
Description: Join us as we explore Psalm 77 through film, spoken word and music. We’ll invite the holy spirit to awaken our minds in this creative experience using dry chalk that will be transferred to a paper lantern and released. Our time together will help us process the scripture with art to bring clarity in the dry seasons we may be experiencing (past or present) with God.

Lisa has always loved art and finds freedom from her struggles through her creativity. She wants to help people understand how the word of the Bible can help them get closer to Jesus as it has done for her. Lisa holds an MBA and before that earned a bachelor's degree in graphics, design and communication. Merly a layperson to the church, she offers her professional services for multiple organization and ministries in the nonprofit sector.
Debra's passion is to connect people to spiritual and creative growth. She believes that each person has innate ability to create; it is a matter of taking the opportunity and freedom to do so. Debra holds her board-certified registration for the art therapy profession. She currently works for a local nonprofit that serves the homeless and addicted, offers therapy via Christian Counselors Collaborative and teaches courses at Carlow University. She holds ATR-BC (Registered Board-Certified Art Therapist with the national Art Therapy Credentials Board and the American Art Therapy Association. In addition, she authored a creative devotional entitled "Color Me Closer". She enjoys nature, creating, taking motorcycle rides, and spending a lot of time with her family.

Trauma Art Ministries is open to artists of all ages and stages through a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, the visual arts, expressions of music, dance, and spoken word, as well as the dramatic arts. In collaboration with community organizations and in reflection of Elohim, God as Creator, artists are connected to a variety of resources and outlets for healing and education on the effects of trauma.

Description: An epiphany is an opening of the mind to receive something new. In this session we will begin a journey together and enjoy the process of creating even if you may not know what the outcome will be. Once you begin, God through the power of the Holy Spirit can reveal things that you didn’t think of when you started the process and prayerfully draw closer to each other and to Him. About the Speaker: Pastor Tom Knowles Pastor Tom is a US Air Force veteran who currently serves as a Pastor Christian House Baptist Chapel. He continues to work full-time for the United States Air Force in Pittsburgh, PA. He has been featured in the Pittsburgh Military Arts Fest presented by Pittsburgh's CIVEASE. He hosts a number of "Pray and Pour" art experiences to the community and has donated hundreds of art pieces. He says, "I’m studying the intersection of my Faith and my Art. I want to explore the influence of both major components ---love and passion--- and see my Faith and Art feed each other and grow deeper and richer." |

Date: Sunday June 25, 2023 Time: 1:00PM - 3:00PM (EST) Donation Request: $15.00 (to help cover materials) Description: Each participant will have an opportunity to create their own umbrella that captures what peace means to them and/or how they can promote a peaceful place in their lives. Inspired by Matt Lamb's Umbrellas for Peace, we will explore and expose inherent creativity in an unbiased, non-critical atmosphere.
