Executive Director: Doreen Weiss, LPC is a licensed professional counselor and the founder of Trauma Art Ministries and Enduring Hope Counseling. Her specialties are domestic violence and trauma resolution. She has been bringing good news to the afflicted and binding up the brokenhearted through counseling for over seventeen years. Board Chair and Exhibit Committee: Hannah Goforth is a local artist and business owner in Dormont, PA. With Go Explore Create she provides private lessons, group classes, and open studio options for all artists. She has experience in trauma art through her own work and assisting others in their artistic journey to healing.
Board Co-Chair: Pastor Tom Knowles a US Air Force veteran who currently serves as a Pastor Christian House Baptist Chapel. He continues to work full-time for the United States Air Force in Pittsburgh, PA. He has been featured in the Pittsburgh Military Arts Fest presented by Pittsburgh's CIVEASE. He also hosts a number of free "Pray and Pour" art experiences to the community and has donated hundreds of art pieces. He says, "I’m studying the intersection of my Faith and my Art. I want to explore the influence of both major components ---love and passion--- and see my Faith and Art feed each other and grow deeper and richer."
Board Secretary: Mary Landis is a Women's Ministry Leader at Rolling Hills Church and a Consultant for Baptist Resource Network. She is a mother of 3 children who she loves dearly (including twins!) and considers motherhood the adventure of a lifetime. She and her husband have been married for 22 years and are in love to this day! They love to create, DIY, cook, bake, read, study, and cuddle with their two cats. They are self- proclaimed nerds who love the Lord and have seen how good He is.
Board Treasurer and Technology Committee: Lisa Bergquist, MBA provides professional services for multiple organizations and ministries in the nonprofit sector supporting in business, marketing and development. She has always loved art and finds freedom from her struggles through her creativity. She wants to help people understand how the word of the Bible can help them get closer to Jesus as it has done for her.
Events Committee Chair: Debra Kahler is the author of "Color Me Closer" and currently working as a Supervisor of the Women and Children's Long Term Program for a local nonprofit serving the homeless and addicted in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds ATR-BC (Registered Board-Certified Art Therapist with the national Art Therapy Credentials Board and the American Art Therapy Association. Debra hosts spiritual and creativity worships called "Heart to Art Ministries". Debra believes that people have their own God-given creative tendencies, and she encourages those around her to embrace Creating with the Creator.
Exhibit Committee: Michelle Jenkins served as an advocate to raise awareness in the fight against human trafficking. Her audience includes churches, women’s groups and other civic organizations. She has been trained by the Alliance for Freedom, Restoration and Justice (AFRJ).
Exhibit Committee: Lois Jane Kane is a photographer who seeks to use photographs to inspire worship and praise to provide comfort and encouragement. Visit Jane Kane Fine Art Photography to see some of her work. She has been a serious photographer for over 20 years.
